My Students

The 3rd-5th grade students at my school exemplify what's great about this country. They are the product of different cultures with hardworking families that understand the value of education. We're an urban school with a sizable portion of our community categorized as low to middle class income families.

It's a school goal that we want all our students to achieve in all aspects of English Language Arts: comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary are paramount.

Adaptive technology is part of our instruction.

My Project

Algobrix will make a difference in student learning by being a STEM coding kit compatible with school Lego brick sets. Along with Cubelet sets, a wide range of urban elementary students, including ESL and PT, will be able to extend their creativity. Algobrix lets students engineer lesson products in ways that they could not with building blocks alone. It lets even the most cursory coder immerse themselves in UDL challenges. For example, a simple Lego structure can be programmed to act. Feats of creative engineering can literaly move their audience. Imagine the toy blocks of yesteryear with a proverbial jetpack!
