Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are part of one of the largest top performing public Middle Schools in South Florida.
My students are innovative and full of questions!
They absolutely love hands-on, active, and engaging projects. Using a variety of technology allows them to think outside the box to find solutions. They come to class each day ready to try new things and eager to learn. Science can be challenging to learn. With proper supplies and technology in the classroom I am able to engage students!
My Project
Our classroom will be transformed into a STEM "crime scene". Students will gather evidence, using their clipboards, that has been planted in and around the room. We will utilize the previous donated blacklights to uncover hidden messages.

As they follow the scientific method and gather empirical evidence they will later report their findings to their peers using the oh so important microphone! Students will follow the visual cues given by the LED lights in order to conduct their investigations. Blue lights indicated silent independent evidence collection. Green indicates partner evidence discussion. Orange indicates "community" evidence discussions, and finally purple will indicate detective press conferences. That is when the final findings are given to the class via the microphone!
