The school is located in suburban Montgomery County, three miles north of Philadelphia. The population of the .58 square mile community is approximately 4,500. Our district houses two schools, an elementary school, and the middle/high school with an enrollment of over 690 students in grades K-12
My students love the opportunity to act as engineers, be challenged with real life problems, and, the best, feeling the success of solving those problems!
They embrace the opportunity to be challenged with engaging in STEM projects and love the hands on aspect of experimentation.
It is our endeavor to create an educational climate in which students experience both success and challenge. We hope to instill the realization that learning is integral to growth and extend beyond the scope of the school district’s program.
My Project
The Motion and Design kit is STEM curriculum that educates students in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering and mathematics, in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. This kit will allow to students to be taught the four disciplines in an integrated cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications while learning about Newton's Laws of Motion. Student will be presented with design challenges that they must work through using the Engineering Design Process (EDP)
Students will be empowered to become engineers and be exposed to the possibilities of career choices later in life.
The Motion and Design Kit will provide my students with the materials they need to conquer the design challenges and see themselves as engineers at a young age.
