My Students

My students come from very low-income homes. More than 90% of students receive free or reduced-price meals in my building. Students lack basics in their homes, much less the ability to utilize technology in their homes. At least a third of my building's population is not even from America and don't come speaking English. We have more than 20 languages spoken.

My students lack of access to technologies at home makes it even more important to support them here at school with innovative technology that will expand their knowledge base so that they can take on the ever growing tech world as they grow into teens and adults.

My Project

Almost all of my students are growing up in poverty and don't have access to technology at home. Many of them don't even speak English. Getting my students 3D pen's would open up a new creative side for so many of them. I also need extra filaments for these 3D pens so that all of students can have chance to create using this innovative technology that they have never seen before.

My students don't have to speak English to be creative so they can shine with their abilities even if they can't verbalize it in words that I or their classmates can understand.

Making something with a 3D pen is something that they can take home and share with their families. Something they can be proud of that they created. Who knows where this new experience with technology and creativity will lead them to a better life for their future.
