My Students
My students are involved in a unique section of the STEM Academy. We are the STEM Gardeners. This year is different.
Our STEM Gardeners are flipping their classroom!
Flipping this classroom means students will learn to cook the items they grow in the garden. Students will use kitchen cooking equipment to practice culinary skills using raw fruits and vegetables. With donations like an induction oven, a Wok, a Food Saver Sealer, and 500 disposable gloves to keep food tasty; we can't fail.
Self-esteem comes from positive, collaborative and interactive engagement!
I think that students will be more inclusive and on task, because they will be thinking about different ways to interact with each other. STEM Gardeners turned Chefs will love this awesome project and I can't wait for it to be fully funded! My class is going to be thrilled thanks to your generosity!
My Project
STEM Gardeners are asking for donations like the induction oven, a Wok, and a Sealer in order to share the fruits and vegetables they have grown last semester.
STEM Gardeners are turning their classroom into a demonstration kitchen for STEM Chefs to show off their culinary skills.
Future Chefs will harvest garden vegetables and fruits. They will use disposable gloves to prepare food. They will use herbs from the garden to season food. They will season the Wok with oil, season their food items, then use the induction oven to stir fry garden treats. This portable, induction oven top, is safe because the surface remains cool to the human touch. Chef students will team up. Each team will use the Wok in conjunction with the induction oven. Teams will try each other's creations to determine the most scrumptious treats. STEM Chefs will then use their disposable gloves and food sealer in order to give away their best samples on Back to School Night!
