My students need colored tissue paper, pipe cleaners, craft sticks, UV beads, action figures and white paper cups to set up engaging STEM challenges in my classroom.
Every morning my students come to class ready to learn. All of my students come from different backgrounds and home lives; however, they know that our classroom is a safe place to grow and learn.
I have twenty wonderful students in my kindergarten classroom.
All of my students are hard workers, respectful, and responsible. They are driven to learn and love hands-on activities. As their teacher, I want to give them every opportunity possible before the end of the school year.
My Project
All students need the chance to be challenged in a safe learning environment. By setting up different STEM challenges in the classroom I would do just that. My students would be able to use action figures, pony beads, craft sticks, colored tissue paper, white water cups and other hands-on materials to build a shelter to protect UV-sensitive animals from the sun and also see how far they can launch Paratroopers.
My students would be able to use these STEM challenges to explore, observe, ask questions, predict, and collaborate with each other.
The STEM challenges would be used to reinforce skills taught in the classroom while being able to work as a team. My students would be using creativity and problem solving with hands-on learning.
