My students are diagnosed with Autism. They learn best through active play and hands-on activities. They engage in various tasks with support and modifications. They are eager to learn new concepts and try their best on a daily basis.
They love to sing, dance, read and engage with technology.
Our school is located in a low-income district and therefore, lacks the necessary resources to scaffold students' understanding. My students are growing and learning new things and they put a smile on my face with their excitement.
My Project
"The important thing is to never stop questioning." Albert Einstein. This project will seek to help students to explore and conduct various scientific explorations. Children are curious; they tend to wonder what is occurring around them in the world. As a result, inquiry learning is best suited whereby students can explore, construct new ideas, and identify explanations of why something is. Inquiry learning governs the constructivist theory of learning. The constructivist theory embodies the idea that individuals learn and gain understanding through experience.
Students will be able to put on their lab coats and safety goggles to conduct experiments.
They will be able to use the microscopes to view slides and specimens. Incorporating these resources, students will be able to find science fun. They will be able to use the magnets to learn what items attract or the tweezers to pick up items. Using the bucket balance, they will be able to measure the weight and make comparisons.
In obtaining these resources, students will be able to have a better learning experience and enjoy the phenomena of science.
