My Students

I have a bunch of curious, kindhearted, and smart first graders. I've been teaching for the past 7 years and it has been so rewarding learning and growing with them. Being a 1st grade teacher has brought a lot of joy to my life and I am so grateful to see the growth every year!

Our class need STEM bins to tap into our engineering selves and use through out the day to help us problem solve, form partnerships, and develop the mindset that we are all builders and engineers.

My Project

I'm so excited to put STEM bins as my project because I truly believe that students can do meaningful work with materials that they can build with. This project will help students tap into their engineering selves by using a various materials and building real life objects. For example, looking at a picture of a bridge and building that bridge out of index cards. The student will have to find different ways to replicate that bridge using just index cards and its amazing how creative little minds work. These STEM bins will be part of the classroom because it can be imbedded in different parts of the school day.
