My students have a passion for learning and creating. I want to encourage that creativity through STEM bins. I have one STEM bin that I created and they absolutely loved it. The level of engagement was off the charts. They keep asking for more STEM bins because of the enjoyment they got out of using the first one.
Our school is a small, agricultural community located in central Washington.
STEM education is new in our district and is continuing to grow.
Jobs in one of the STEM fields are increasing faster than any other area. It's important that students start experiencing STEM at an early age and continue to use it as they grow. STEM is often forgotten in the younger grades.
My students will be introduced to it early with these ETA hand2mind STEM bins.
They will be using common tools to create and solve real world problems like how to create and build a bridge from popsicle sticks. The students will show growth in areas like problem-solving, communications and critical thinking. This will also help prepare student for future endeavors such as LEGO Robotics Club and Math Team.
