This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My kindergarten through 3rd-grade scientists attend a high-poverty school in Wisconsin. I am extremely fortunate to be their elementary science teacher, and I am the only science teacher in our district for this age group. Our school has a new lab, and the students go two times a week to participate in hands-on activities that explore life, earth, and physical sciences. They are also involved in STEM activities that explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. They are excited and eager to learn, and one day they may become scientists themselves.
My Project
Our STEM Lab needs new clipboards for many science experiments. They will use them to record data, draw animals and plants that they observe in nature, and write down the sounds they hear on listening walks. We will use the paper to complete special projects and assignments for our science notebooks. The tape will be used to help create, improve, and test our STEM projects in earth, life and physical sciences.
Your donation will provide my students with basic supplies that will encourage them to be the best scientists, technologists, engineers, and mathematicians that they can be.
We would not be able to have these new supplies without your help.
