Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a school in Florida that took a direct hit by Hurricane Irma. We are a STEM-based charter school with 74% free or reduced-price lunches. The families we serve really want what is best for their kids and trust me as their teacher to help make those decisions. The students in my classroom are very loving and caring individuals.

My students are passionate, eccentric, beautiful, intelligent, and all-around amazing. When you look into their eyes, you know that they are eager to consume knowledge. These students appreciate each and every day that they spend in the classroom because they know that they are going to use their minds in the most creative and innovative ways possible.
My Project
My students need art supplies to complete Math and Stem projects in class. My students were impacted by Hurricane Irma and need supplies. We need sharpies and paint pens for poster projects. Sharing art supplies has become difficult since we have so few markers to go around. Because of this, I would like to get enough for each group to have their own. The memory cards and flash drive will be used to record group STEM projects. They love to see the videos and steps we record, it will easier to save them and keep them for years to come on memory cards.
I believe that having their own supplies will allow them the opportunity to work faster so they don't have to wait to share the same color with their neighbors.
