This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Building, Creating, Collaborating and Innovating are an important part of STEM education. My learners are an amazing group of learners and they are so excited to begin our next project. My learners are Gifted and Talented group of 3rd - 5th graders who absolutely love everything STEM. My students love any and all STEAM activities. They love building things with their hands, designing things, testing hypotheses, and then improving their designs based on their observations. My students also love learning about sustainability and ways that they can help make their futures better. I know that my kids will love building their own solar homes. The best part of this project is the ART piece my learners are completely stoked about the design and physical aesthetic of their projects.

Through building these solar homes, my students will be able to learn more about solar energy and sustainability.

We will study other ways that solar energy is used around the world. We will talk about the connection between solar energy and sustainability. We will even get an opportunity to think about the future and if we think that solar cars are a viable option for people to use. I love the idea of my kids as the next generation in the workforce. I am confident that they are the next engineers, scientists, creators, artists, doctors, teachers, and so much more. They are going to make change, and giving them this learning opportunity is just a step on their path toward great things.
