Our fourth grade is unique. I have students from different backgrounds, cultures, religions, and races. Some students are learning English for the very first time. Some students are very talented when it comes to learning, some require special education, and some students are working their hardest to give their best.
Seeing my students engaged and deeply involved in their own education is a great joy to me.
I strive to provide hands-on learning experiences in a safe environment, where students are free to explore, make real-world connections, and see their knowledge grow and expand!
My Project
In this project, I am requesting basic supplies to build my students knowledge and understanding of STEM related careers and the real world applications these careers are finding solutions to. WIth the STEM Learning Lab activities, students really become part of the scientific process—as they design and build roller coasters, complete electrical circuits, explore gravitational forces and more! The Physical Science Activity Labs are the perfect addition to our classroom science centers, providing hands-on activities to give students an engaging way to explore physical science, including engineering and design. Another item I am requesting is the Instant STEM Activities. These activities are hands-on and support students as they work collaboratively.
Helping students explore real world challenges and giving them lifetime skills to deal with these issues is a central feature of STEM related careers.
In the last item I am requesting, Global Challenges Project Based STEM kits, students will engross themselves in finding real solutions to problems we face each day. These include an oil spill activity, finding answers to water shortage issues and lastly, students work to combat the energy crisis.
Please help me give my students these STEM inspired items, to help increase their understandings of STEM careers and how to engineer real world solutions to very real problems!
