My students need basic supplies to support their STEM projects and interactive notebooks this year in science. With project-based learning, students need various materials that they cannot supply themselves.
I teach 5 classes (135+ 6th-grade students) in a high poverty area. The majority of my students are on free and reduced lunch. My goal as a teacher is to get my students engaged in learning by providing a STEM-minded classroom focused on hands-on learning.
My students want to learn, however, our resources are limited as to what we can offer them.
I want to provide my students with the resources they need to be engaged, challenged, and successful not only in the classroom but in the real world.
My Project
My students need basic supplies (markers, glue, paper) to be successful in the classroom which is centered around project-based learning. My students will be able to use these various materials for a more interactive and hands-on approach to their learning.
These supplies will be used in the implementation of our STEM program at my school.
Students will use the graph paper and rulers to create the blueprints of their projects as well as to graph and show data from experiments. They will use the markers, glue, and paper to put together their presentations and create storyboards to demonstrate their knowledge. My students will also use these supplies for their interactive notebooks which is a great organizational method for their class notes. Lastly, my students will be able to use the books to support their understanding of the topics covered this year.
Thank you so much for thinking about donating to support our 6th-grade science class!
