My students need items to implement STEM Bins in our classroom and organize our STEM Bins in an area in our room. We also need non-fiction texts on inspirational people and fairy tale books.
I teach in a Title I school where a large number of students qualify for free and reduced lunch. My third grade classroom is full of vibrant, eager little learners. We all have one goal to make learning fun and do have a CAN DO attitude. This is my second year teaching third grade. I have taught kindergarten and first grade for the last 19 years.
I find that it is important to provide student opportunities to explore their learning with hands on experiences.
The students in my classroom all have different learning needs and are at an age where they can begin to explore the world around them and find avenues that work best for their learning.
My Project
Through implementing STEM bins in my classroom, I will be able to have my students use higher level of thinking as they problem solve and build structures and integrate reading and writing in this process. We will utilize the STEM bins for students who are finished with their work early, during indoor recess, and during RTI time. We will also utilize them as a community building exercise for our classroom.
We will integrate the "Who Was" and fairy tale books in our Reader's Workshop model.
Readers do create leaders and will help students learn to always reach for their goals.
