My students need a Grade 2-3 STEM Bundle Kit that includes labs, challenge kits, and nonfiction books, along with 9 STEM journals for additional group extensions.
Albert Einstein once said, "The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing." By incorporating STEM learning activities into our day, my students will have a reason to ask questions and their curiosity will be peaked.
My second graders love learning science.
They are curious about the world around them and enjoy solving their own problems through experiments and hands-on activities. My students have diverse cultural backgrounds and interests, but we all are excited to learn from one another.
We enjoy working in collaborative groups and sharing our knowledge. We enjoy using our critical thinking skills to evaluate new information and make judgments about what is important. We know that integrating the arts allows us to make personal connections to our learning and demonstrate what we know in creative ways. We love to come school and are excited to meet the academic challenges before us.
My Project
The STEM bundle kit that I am requesting from Lakeshore Learning includes challenge kits, learning labs, and nonfiction books that are grade level appropriate for my second grade students. I am also requesting 9 additional STEM journals for be used by groups as an extension challenge. These materials will provide my class with real-world challenges, like building car, or a windmill, which will allow my students to plan, build, and test their designs.
These STEM projects promote collaboration and have students working together to solve problems. My students will be talking and thinking outside the box and applying their critical thinking skills as they learn science, technology, engineering, and math.
The requested STEM bundle will provide my students with the learning materials they need to promote lifelong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
The challenges are not only fun and engaging, but they provide students with a safe way to apply their learning. By using these materials, the students in my room will all be scientists, engineers, and researchers. They will learn things by doing, not just by watching.
