Help me give my students experience with hands-on activities instead of watching others. When we average 24-26 students per class, we need more equipment so all students are actively learning.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Science becomes more accessible to English Language Learners when they can explore and discover patterns, characteristics, and rules during hands-on experiences (Nutta, Bautista, & Butler 2013). One of the most popular methods for teaching guided inquiry is the 5E’s, which stand as for Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate (Bybee, 1997). In the exploration stage, students perform investigations related to the scientific phenomenon.
This year, 36.5% of the students at our school are English Language Learners and 75.6% are considered economically disadvantaged.
Having taught for 33 years, I am well aware that providing hands-on activities for all of students in all subjects will help them better understand the concept being taught. I want to ensure that my students have every opportunity as their peers across the state and the country when it comes to science.
My Project
In the past 10 years, most schools have been focusing on Reading and Math with less time being spent on Science. All of these activities will be used during my enrichment class to help my students with problem solving skills. My students will be able to create, test, and modify their designs to better understand science standards.
Hands-on training enhances students' ability to think critically and find creative solutions to problems.
During hands-on learning activities, students can work in groups to learn team and problem-solving skills. By doing this, they are actively engaged in what they are learning about and working together and thinking creatively to solve the task they have been given. Besides, when students practice what they have learned and test out theories they have been exposed to, they strengthen their knowledge and skills in those areas.
