As a special education teacher my favorite part is that I get to see the side of my students that no one else gets to see. My students may struggle with the traditional way of learning, but they shine in so many other ways.
When limits are put on my students or directions are given that they don't like, they will, at first, fight them, but then we work on how we can use that "fight" spirit to conquer the challenge in front of us.
My Project
As a start up school we have the opportunity to create an environment of positive learning and outcomes. When we are working with scholars in the special education world, we have learned that they need extras to help them level out the learning field.
Your donations to our school will allow our students to be able to take the sensory breaks that they need in order to regulate their bodies, spirits and minds throughout the school day.
With our school not having a sensory room before, we are striving to create a welcoming, friendly and safe environment for students to get what they need throughout the day!
