Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is an early childhood center. We serve children from two nearby schools in Pre-K and Kindergarten. They come to us until they go back to their home schools for elementary.
Approximately 92% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.
The majority of them are also learning English as second language.
We are a play-based school, value hands-on learning, and we are committed to helping our young learners meet their full potential in every way.
Our goal is for our students to fall in love with learning, and to thrive in a world of possible. Our campus is a special place, indeed!
My Project
Having great books available in the school library helps to hook students, and instill a love of reading that will last a lifetime.
These books all have starred reviews from the prestigious Kirkus Reviews, and are some of the best of the best when it comes to newly published titles in children's literature.
Reading is the gateway to success for our students. It is the basis for all learning, and what we strive to nurture and develop in an early childhood setting like ours. Having high-quality, engaging, stand-out titles to share with our teachers, students, and families in the community will set the stage for a bright future for all.
