Help me give my students the reading selections they deserve! I've requested multiple copies of books that have either shown up on the AP Literature test or are of literary merit for the class.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is located in one of the most densely populated areas of California. The neighborhood outside of our school is a beautiful and rich mix of cultures from Central and South America, but it is also a neighborhood that struggles with gang-related violence, persistent poverty, and the slow creep of gentrification.
My students know very well that education is the key to them escaping the cycle of poverty and instability, so we have one of the highest attendance rates in the area.
Our graduates have gone on to graduate from excellent schools like Harvard, Stanford, UCLA, UC Berkeley, MIT, USC, Columbia, and Tufts to name a few.
My Project
The library at our school has been underfunded for years. The best books from the last decade or so are simply not on the shelves. We have only a handful of graphic novels that are extremely valuable in getting reluctant readers to take up any sort of reading.
Simply put, our library needs more books to fully embrace its role of being a center for literary exploration.
I've selected an assortment of graphic novels for our English Learners and multiple copies of novels of sufficient literary merit to support our more advanced readers in AP book groups. Even in this digital age, libraries are vital to the cultural life of all schools. Getting our book collection to where it should be is just the start.
