My students need a 3D Printer to engage with on a higher academic level; as well as, to spark some interest in future careers.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, they are always smiling and ready to learn! They are determined and never give up. All of them have a strong desire to learn but haven’t been exposed to engaging material.
Thus, I would like to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences through science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.
My Project
Unfortunately, our students are not given enough opportunities in their home lives to enhance their knowledge of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. Similarly, our school says STEAM is it’s main emphasis. So, instead of discussing and telling students how important STEAM will be in their future, why don’t we show them by exposing them to career opportunities and engaging activities!
By providing the 3D Printer we are allowing students to explore potential opportunities that they never even knew existed.
It provides students a deeper level of thinking, as they create what they make for the 3D Printer and learn how to work the 3D Printer. Ultimately, it provides students with opportunities to think out of the box.
