My students are a group of low income students who thrive on doing their best in school. Kindergarten is their first year in school and an important step into their education career. I want to create an environment for them where they are challenged so that they can create a growth mindset.
My students are eager learners with a lot different personalities.
They come to school ready for new tasks and challenges. They love to read stories and draw pictures. They love to learn about science topics and have so many questions about the world!
My Project
My students will benefit from a Cricut because we will be able to cut shapes and objects for classroom labels and projects. With the Cricut Air 2, students can create images on a computer that is compatible and have it cut out on vinyl or cardstock. They will be able to use their imagination and be creative.
STEAM is a very important part of our curriculum and integrating it into our lessons is very important.
I try to have my students complete STEAM projects whenever possible so they are able to be challenged with new ideas. My students love to create and build and now we can do that with art. Materials like tissue paper and 3D blocks are important for them to be hands on and creative.
With these supplies, students can take home their projects to show their parents all the hard work they have done. A lot of my materials are like blocks where they have to leave it in class. These materials will help to build a relationship with their parents because they can be proud of their hard work. Parents will love to see what they are completing in school.
