My students need Ozobots to continue their coding skills with block coding using different robots and a different app. A Little Bits STEAM set would also enhance my students engineering skills and critical thinking skills.
My students come from rural Central West Virginia. We are the smallest school district by student population in the state. Students in my classes are in middle school for the first time and attend a 7-12 high school.
I teach students who are highly intelligent but need that extra push at school since sometimes education is not important at home.
These students are caring and kind and want desperately to do better. I have several students who are served with Special Education services as well as many athletes.
My Project
Living in Central West Virginia my students do not have access to many STEAM/STEM based career opportunities. In order to get them excited about coding, robotics, and engineering I am requesting 2 Ozobots and a STEAM set of Little Bits snap circuits.
These tools are engaging and developmentally appropriate for my students ability levels and will expose them to STEAM education in a way they have never seen before.
Students will learn block coding with the Ozobots and valuable engineering skills with the Little Bits set.
The marble run will give them challenges with architecture and design as well as make them think critically to solve each challenge. They will also have to work cooperatively in order to be successful with the challenges posed to them.
