My Students

Our school is in a rural area. Many of my students live in alternative settings. There's no major industry in our area, so families have to travel to work. This limits the time they spend with their kids. Often that means kids are spending more time in front of the television, computers, or other electronic devices, than they are outside. We want to give them a project that would promote engagement, not just at school, but at home too.

My students deserve all the opportunities that I can give them.

Your assistance would help provide them with endless opportunities.

My Project

With these materials, my students will have a chance to be creative while actually building a robot. The students will have to use their previous knowledge of electronics to figure out first how to get the motor to work, then how to attach it to the cup with the battery without it falling off when the motor starts moving.

That'll be when the real fun starts.

They can add legs (markers) to their robot and watch it walk across the table while it makes cool art designs on the paper at the same time. When they finish they should have attached the motor and batteries with tape to the top of the cup, the cup will be the robot body, and it will have 3 marker legs for balance. Science project and Art project all in one!
