My Students

As a teacher at a small school in a rural community with majority of my students coming from low-income families, many of my students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom.

Despite their challenges, my students enter our classroom each day with a smile, a positive attitude, and the willingness to learn.

These students are full of energy and personality. There is never a dull moment in our classroom! In the short time that we've been together, we have grown to become a family.

My Project

Our school district has recently begun a STEAM initiative to implement Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math activities into our daily curriculum. The materials I am asking for will not make learning fun, but provide more opportunities for hands-on learning and improve critical thinking & problem solving skills.

The STEM Building Kits, Wikki Stix, Brain Builder Blocks and Prisms all contribute to the hands-on learning I am looking forward to providing my students.

With these materials, my 4th graders will have the chance to collaborate creatively as they problem solve and think critically, all while having fun at the same time. Often times we put such a stress on academics during our day that our students do not have the opportunity to simply be kids and explore through play, and I believe these materials will help spark their imagination to all the possibilities of STEAM learning!
