My students need LittleBits STEAM to learn about the components that are part of the electronic world.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Our students work on being safe, respectful and responsible every day. We come to school excited to learn about the world around us. We are an extremely diverse group of learners with a high EL population.
These children are all unique with diverse interests and talents!
They are active, curious, and waiting for opportunities to explore and be amazed at the world beyond our walls and our community!
They want to be astute problem solvers and are ready for learning challenges
We need to bring coding, engineering, and electronics from the abstract into the real world. With LittleBits my students will have the ability to marry their problem solving skills with their electronics and coding skills into real world analogies. LittleBits lend themselves to a language challenged environment. With color coded pieces and magnetic ends it is easy to see which pieces perform functions and how they go together. The ability to create and use other types of materials such as legos and other junk models allow students to make, adapt and remake things. The support from the LittleBits website enhances the ability to use them in a self-directed setting. Students will learn about the components of electronics from a kid's perspective.
LittleBits promote collaboration and open ended learning along with creativity, teamwork, efficiency, electronic circuits, artistic expression and fun!
By implementing LittleBits into our STEAM time students will be able to learn about the components that are part of the electronic world in a fun and engaging manner.
