My students need STEAM robots and activities for hands-on activities in the classroom. The growing usage of technology will help students work with science and technology.
I am a first year third grade teacher at a school that wants to incorporate STEAM and blended learning in our classrooms while in a low-income/high poverty school district. My students are faced with challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep learning creative and meaningful in my classroom. These students will each have their own individual and unique needs. These tools will help each of these students be the most successful in the classroom.
Our school is comprised of students ranging in age from pre-school to fifth graders.
Our school embraces the use of differentiation and modification in the classroom to enhance student learning and meet the students' needs. Many of my students are being raised in single parent households and receive free lunch based on their socioeconomic status, potentially preventing my students from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences needed for college and career readiness. While in my classroom, I hope to give students a positive experience they need to gain these life experiences in the classroom.
My Project
STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. This is something that our educators are incorporating into classrooms for a cross-curricular, high-engagement, and problem-based learning environment.
With your help, this project will fund six Ozobot Robots, one Code & Go Mouse Set, and a Bloxel (Build Your Own Video Game Set).
This will help transform a classroom into a student based classroom that emphasizes problem solving, discovery, and exploratory learning. While teaching students different science and math standards, these tools will help the students have a hands-on approach to their learning. While working with these objects, students will be able to build, create, code, and structure items that capture their interest. The sky is the limit for these students in a classroom where they are able to explore opportunities and options that they want to make!
