I work in a neighborhood school composed of students from many different backgrounds and socio-economic statuses. Students come in each day eager to learn new and exciting things. I am constantly looking for new and exciting ways to keep students engaged and foster their love for learning!
We are able to embrace our differences as people and learners to build a strong classroom community.
In my classroom we love to spend time each day learning about each other and where we all come from. We use these experiences to help us grow as individuals and as a group of learners.
My Project
The materials included in this list will help to enrich our STEAM time in the classroom. Each item on this list will help to provide resources needed for projects and experiments we will conduct in the classroom each week, during our science and social studies blocks, to help expand our understanding on challenging concepts.
It will help to provide hands-on experiences for students to engage in and learn through their own exploration and struggles.
Students will be able to enhance their motor skills as well as problem solving skills while engaged in STEAM activities. Students will learn the properties of magnets through slime making, they will experiment with engineering and building with STEM sticks and challenges to make new structures. With construction kits they will be able to experiment with balance and gravity as well as create structures able to hold different materials.
