Help me give my students more STEAM in our classroom by creating a Makerspace. This is a place where students with shared interests can build, create, and solve problems.
My class is made up of a great group of 3rd grade girls and boys who love to learn. They like to work together to solve problems, read, and discover new things. These scholars communicate effectively, respond digitally, and communicate effectively.
Our mission statement is "Our 3rd grade class shows pride every day by believing anything is possible with the magic inside you." The students wrote this mission statement and are true to it.
They are active kids who like to work together as a group of friends who are eager to learn new things every day, help each other, and show citizenship.
My Project
In our classroom we are scientists. We are scientists who create and collaborate, solve problems and grow our minds.
This year I am creating a space for students to collaborate, solve problems, design, and create called a makerspace.
I am asking for materials that will describe building challenges for students. With these materials, students can create moving cars, design buildings, solve problems, and more. Students will have an opportunity to use 21st-century skills as they explore challenges and use the Engineer Design Process. This space will showcase STEAM in action in our classroom.
Students will work together as teams of scientists to ask, plan, test, improve, and communicate designs. We are excited to add this creative space to our classroom!
