I love teaching 5th-grade! My students are kind, caring, creative, curious, and eager learners. They love to inquire about anything and everything! My room is full of twenty-five students that each come from a different part of town. Some students walk to school and some are on the bus for hours.
These students want to learn and are happy to be at school.
We are one big family. We look out for one another and use encouragement daily. Our room is a happy place to be!
My Project
The first day back for teachers this school year, our school was struck by a tornado. Thank God there were not any students in school yet, but the school was full of teachers. We lost a wing and many supplies. The technology was destroyed. I am trying to build up a classroom COW (Computer on Wheels) for my students. We use technology all the time, but it is limited due to the size of our school and damaged technology.
I love to teach my 5th-graders how to research, complete assignments through Google Classroom, typing skills, and developing papers.
Technology helps boosts the students' knowledge of the world. There are so many projects that I will be able to do with my 5th-graders if we have a 1 to 1 ratio of Chromebooks in our classroom.
