This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are creative, thoughtful and always full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, lessons and activities that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! I am always learning from them, and they are always inspiring me!
Because I teach at a Title I school, many of my students do not have the resources at home to stay engaged in learning during the pandemic.
I do not want their time and talents to be wasted while they are waiting to get back to the school building.
My Project
Because of the current COVID 19 pandemic, our school building has been closed for the remainder of the school year. I want to provide my students with some fun and challenging STEAM activities to keep them engaged in learning while they are at home.
One of the ways that I would like to enrich their time at home is by providing each of them with a Lego Gadgets Science & Activity Kit.
With this kit, they will have the ability to create 11 different types of machines. I am also asking for books with projects related to engineering, art, and problem solving that I can complete along with my students during our Zoom meetings.
Many of my students do not have access to these materials at home. My hope is to provide them with some fun and engaging STEAM activities so they can keep engaging their minds at while they are away from the school building.
