Help me give my students a unique opportunity to develop skills that are affiliated with science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) by creating individual and assigned projects using LEGOs, magnetic tiles, play-doh, brain flakes, and building blocks.
In the very exciting first year of launching a brand-new elementary school in a continuously expanding and developing charter school in North Carolina, I am honored and privileged to begin a new journey down the road to a love of learning in twenty-four of the most incredible group of six, seven, and eight-year-olds that I have ever known.
Becoming is better than being.
Thinking of where our lives are now brings us to consider the profound beginnings and how each step throughout our journey brought us to where we are now. Each meaningful milestone leading to our ultimate future and now our present life. What pleasure and pride I take in constructing the foundation in new and improved learning opportunities to develop the road to mastery, achieve autonomy, enhance creativity, and attain life's purpose.
My Project
In a newly established elementary school in North Carolina, we take pride in the incorporation of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) based projects, project-based learning, purposeful instruction, and classrooms that encourage creativity and innovation. With the use of Lego's, magnetic tiles, play-doh, building blocks, and brain flakes, my students will be afforded with the unique opportunity to create individual and assigned projects that have real-world application and require holistic approaches that induce innovation and desired creative thought. For example, my students can use lego's to construct a house, bridge, tower, or even an animal home.
Fun and engaging tasks lead to mastery of knowledge and skills that lead to purposeful learning.
