STEAM Computers for our IB-for-All Class!!

We need computers and power strips for college and summer program applications and creating music!

About My Students

Kent and Josue are very excited about their music programs and creating music for the IB Music class. They would love to get the support from you to get a computer to fill out online applications, compose and arrange music using Sibelius and Mixcraft, and record pieces with Audacity.

My students are very creative! They love technology, and they would like to bring music technology to our classroom. Having computers would give them a chance to use music technology and teach others how to use it to their advantage too. Right now, we only have a few computers, so time exploring outside programs and music technology is very limited. They want to take part in making our school technology better. Please consider helping them.

Upgrading classroom technology will help them on their college resume and begin to explore more IB music opportunities and fulfill IB requirements. This will be a great opportunity to learn how creating/arranging works and provide them with 'one person band' recording opportunities. The computer will then be used for additional learning and incorporate all aspects of a STEAM education. This will meet a great deal of academic need for them by giving them unrestricted access to a computer with music software. Furthermore, this project serves as a teamwork opportunity for students, since Jasmine and Kent love to share experiences and are leaders in the classroom.

In Their Own Words

Our goal is to help make our learning environment more vibrant by bringing in newer technologies, and we hope that we can do so by getting laptops to explore music technology. This will help our learning by letting us explore music technology avenues instead of being limited by only using Mr. B's computer. We can practice with it and create songs to teach to others. We are excited to be able to do this so that we can have a computer that is up to date to run music software. Plus, we can research college and other music programs. Please help us out!

We will be leaders in bringing this project to life by sharing this project on social media, school site, and teaching others. We will encourage our classmates to do so, as well. Since we are section leaders, this will help us learn/create music to teach my section for the concert. We want to be the best and practice aids and exploration are the only way to achieve this. With these laptops, we will be able to further advance our music studies.

We play concerts at school and around town and this will help us play cooler and different music for people and sound better. I like playing for the school and sharing my experiences with them. We love music and want to share with as many people as possible the positive impact that it can have...both as a performance art and academic area. Thanks for your support!
