My students are a diverse group with a variety of cultural and economic backgrounds. There is also a mix of various abilities, including gifted students and special needs students. This wonderful group learns so much from each other both academically and socially!

They share my desire to broaden their knowledge through hands-on inquiry opportunities and learning to take risks to make new discoveries. By having these chances, your donation can help strengthen their creative and critical thinking skills, as well as help them to be more flexible while collaborating with each other, which will prepare them for their future.
My Project
My students will use these materials to develop their social skills, as well as their thinking skills. The Sphero robots will allow them to make a connection between their written code and seeing it in action. It will be used in conjunction with the Design Thinking Process to create solutions to real-world problems. Excitement through utilizing these materials will inspire students to collaborate towards the answers. The Snap Circuits and Makey Makey kits and book will introduce the elements of electricity while using them to create inventions. They will be able to integrate technology while working on project-based learning activities.
Students need the chance to just work not just on typical academic tasks, but be given the chance to learn through exploration; they need to learn to fail and problem-solve.
Collaboration is an important skill to build and working as a team, will allow them to learn how to take initiative, plan, organize, test, and troubleshooting tasks.
