Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I currently teach our English Learner (EL) population grades Kinder-5th grade. Our student population is very diverse as it consists of Asian Americans, Native American, and Mexican-Americans.
I truly respect the diversity that my students bring, and how it allows my students to practice and cherish respect for other cultures, language, and race.
Their diversity brings so much knowledge to our classroom. They care for each other, but more than anything, they value other languages and cultures. Our students face multiple challenges, especially in today's time with Remote Learning. I want to provide the best education I can for my students so that they can do their best and be successful.
My Project
My students have worked so hard this semester. We have not been able to go back, and we are in 100% in Remote Learning. With the chilly days now, I want to be able to provide a blanket to each of my students.
A blanket will not only keep them warm during the holidays, but they will be able to wrap themselves in their blanket while attending Zoom classes.
When we were in school we were sure students were warm at every hour of their learning. Now that they are learning from home, I am unsure what their living circumstances are, and a blanket to keep them warm will sure add a comfort to their learning experience at home.
