This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have been an educator for 16 years and I don't think I've worked with a more wonderful group of fourth and fifth grade students in all my years. While my students come from critical home environments, they report to school daily with smiles on their faces; ready to learn.
My students are full of life and yearn to be their best selves!
Their thirst for learning is evident and I feel that they will grow emotionally and academically this school year.
My Project
The winter outerwear, footwear, and umbrellas will help my students stay warm and dry this winter! Being present at school is the first step to learning and these items can mean the difference between students coming to school and staying home. First, the appropriate outerwear will keep my students healthy by keeping them warm as they walk to school each day. Secondly, it will prevent parents from keeping their child at home because they don't want to subject them to the cold or the rain without coats, umbrellas, and the appropriate footwear.
Donating to this project will help students attend school consistently and in good health this winter!
