Staying Warm and Dry at Children's Place: Part 1

Help me give my students Children's Place Gift Cards so I can purchase clothing items for students as needed during the unpredictable NC Weather.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

NC's weather can be very unpredictable at times. 1 day is warm and the AC is needed to cool off the classroom, then 2 days later freezing temperatures and sweaters, gloves and scarves are needed. In the past our school kept a clothing closet for emergencies but over the years it has dwindled down and has not been replenished with clothing for kindergarten students.

I will use these gift cards to purchase clothes to have a school.

These clothes will be used as emergency clothes when students have accidents and or spills and parents are not able to make it to school in a timely manner. Occasionally students arrive to school and clothes are uncomfortable or do not fit in a way that is comfortable.

Lastly, our school has several theme days and PBIS Spirit Days. Sadly, sometimes students miss out and are not able to participate in these days. They are sad and feel left out. I want to promote classroom and school community by ensuring that students are able to participate in these days by having shirts and themed clothes prepared for the students who typically miss these days.

When students needs are met, they are able to focus on learning and not on staying warm, dry or feeling left out. Help me please meet the diverse needs of my students so we are always ready and prepared for what ever comes our way!
