What makes my students special... well they are my students. I am just so honored and proud to be their teacher and help guide them in their years of elementary before they enter into middle school. In my classroom, we have students that are directly affected by learning disabilities, but in my classroom we do not call it a disability. That would indicate there is a problem, there are no problems we cannot work through together…it truly is a life puzzle on figuring out what will work for them to be successful.
I teach in a Title I school where my students all have IEPs (individual educational plan) to help structure their learning path to a better insightful road of education.
I take great pride in creating and writing each plan individually that will help them learn at a rate that best fits them. These students are affectionately called my ducks on campus, because we are never too far apart. We are a family.
My Project
My students' require daily review of the most basic things. They also need to learn how to complete assigned task individually. With the Counting Links and Learning Letters Activity Centers, my students will have a sense of success when each task is being completed. The Leveled Library Checkout Chart will allow them to locate and check out proper leveled books. This can be difficult because of their academic/social needs. I would like to provide them relevant task to help review skills they need in order to move forward with their learning paths and also allow them to feel successful with completing individual task on their own.
Learning how to be independent is a social skill that could serve them well in so many ways.
Thank you for giving my students the opportunity to thrive and to have the support they need.
