My students need access to current events from around the world! TIME Edge online magazine is updated weekly with the most current issues from around the globe put into terms that a middle-schooler can relate to!
I teach in an urban area in Massachusetts. My students come from very diverse backgrounds. They range from high honors to special education students, and enjoy reading a variety of genres from Mythology to graphic novels. I provide as much as I can for my students beyond the actual classroom, sometimes it's meals or a sweater, other times it's a book that their parents can't afford. I try to keep my classroom library as stocked as possible, but it's hard to keep up with all the amazing books that are coming out!
My Project
TIME Edge online magazine is a wonderful resource from TIME Kids for young adults to stay informed. I teach in an urban middle school and the majority of our student population come from low income families.
It is essential for young adults to be well informed about what is going on in the world around them.
Issues around the world are emerging and changing daily. Children are often shielded from current events because of their content, but TIME Edge online magazine takes these current events and puts them into terms that are informational for young adults without dumbing-down the subject matter.
