Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a second grade teacher with 25 wonderful, loving students assigned to my class. They have signed up to learn online only and not Face to Face due to various medical reasons. My students come from different socioeconomic backgrounds and will build a thriving community in our virtual classroom.
These second grade students are thirsting for knowledge, wanting to explore new avenues of education, and are always kind and loving.
They love and desire a positive, creative learning environment that is appealing and mind inspiring.
My Project
My students will create these friendship bracelets while together in class on Zoom. This will help them to feel that connection and not so isolated while social distancing learning. They will then choose a classmate to exchange their bracelets.
They will learn the value and pride of creating something personal on their own.Sharing it with another classmate will help them learn the joy of giving and creating lifelong friendships.
This is so important during our pandemic for their socioemotional needs. Students need to still feel that they belong and are connected with their classmates as friends.
