I work with a group of four- and five-year-olds who are eager to learn. They love exploring the world around them and learning about how things work. My students love fairies, trucks, animals, rocks, dirt, princesses, sports, and many other things. This is the best age group to work with!
It is so important for students to love coming to school every day, and this won't happen if they are expected to do worksheets.
I try to make sure my lessons are engaging and hands-on. I get to lay the foundation for these students that every teacher after me will add on to. I am so lucky to be able to have the honor of working with our youngest students.
My Project
I am trying to create fun and engaging activities for my students to use during their may do. What is a may do? When they finish their center work, they get to choose a may do bin to fill their time. These activities work on skills that they need to practice like letter recognition, numbers, sounds, rhyming, and many more.
Students are more engaged when they have a choice!
