Student in our class come from many different backgrounds. The majority of our students qualify for a free or a reduced price school meal program and often times it is very difficult for their parents to donate to our school.
Despite many challenges in their young lives, my students come to school eager to learn and they arrive with huge smiles on their faces.
As their teacher, I want to provide my students with a highly engaging and motivating learning experience. I want to create an environment where these 18 energetic, creative, and inquisitive students can flourish.
My Project
Students can struggle connecting with nonfiction texts, especially when reading about current events. Scholastic News brings the events of the world to students in a way that helps them better understand our world.
They will be able to develop opinions and ideas that can contribute to their classroom, school, and even their community.
Scholastic News ties state standards to their articles to develop each student into stronger readers through activities. Each activity is related to the articles and promote literacy through science and social studies. Students will develop into worldly scholars!
