Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach fourth grade students in a high-needs school. The majority of my students are English language learners and some students lack the educational resources which would help them progress academically and meet grade level requirements.
Some of my students come to 4th grade already with the skills needed to meet the Common Core Standards, but many need additional support to get them where they need to be.
My students and their families are motivated and excited about their education and doing the best that they can this school year.
My Project
Scholastic News and Time For Kids are terrific resources for students because they include high-interest articles and current information. They will be used both in the classroom for independent reading and for homework, giving students an opportunity to improve their reading skills and answer comprehension questions. Students look forward to receiving relevant reading materials designed specifically for them.
My goal is to create an engaging, focused learning environment.
The Fidget bands will be placed on the chairs in the classroom and will help students focus on their work. This will still giv them the opportunity for movement without disturbing other students who need a quiet environment.
