Help me give my students basic materials such as drawing paper, crayons, pencils, and watercolors to be able to successfully complete remote learning and stay creative for art class.
I am the art teacher of 250 amazing students from Kindergarten through 4th-grade. Our school is a Title I, expanded learning time school. Our population is very diverse with different experiences, backgrounds, and cultures. Due to COVID-19, we are all experiencing a new normal. This new way of learning has been harder on some due to not having the basic needs at home. Many of our students are without wifi and technology.
Although our students are trying to complete their remote learning assignments, many find it difficult as they do not have the supplies they need at home.
I miss spending my days at school with my students and seeing their creativity and imaginations flourish. My students are amazing artists, but without the basic art materials, they cannot complete assignments.
My Project
Due to COVID-19, we are all doing remote learning. I am continuing to create and assign weekly lessons. However, many of my students do not have the supplies they need to do the art lessons at home. I would like to provide the basic supplies to my students so they are able to have a creative outlet in this stressful time as well as give back a little normalcy as they are amazing artists who are missing their art class. My students need things such as paper, pencils, crayons, and watercolor paints. This way, they will all be able to complete their assignments.
Funding for these basic art supplies will allow my students to create their assignments and continue to learn while schools are closed.
Assuming my students do not have the supplies they need at home, our remote lessons have been limited to mostly pencil drawings and found-object and nature collages. Some may not have drawing paper at all. Please help my students stay creative from home.
