My Students

My students are a great group of kids that come from varied backgrounds. The thing I like best about my students is that they are open to trying new things. They not only engage in the lessons being taught, but they also implement the newly acquired information into the activity they are participating in.

Studies have proven that physical activity stimulates the brain, and this can be seen within my class.

Students are taking what they have learned to the next level by implementing self-created strategies and analyzing game rules to help make the current activity even more exciting and beneficial.

My Project

Kan Jam is a great activity to teach students. The essential skills needed to play the game would be: correctly throwing a Frisbee, focusing on a target, working with a teammate, and implementing strategy. This is a fun activity that students have not played before, and yet could be played for the rest of their lives outside of the school setting. Groups of 4 students play with each Kan Jam set, and therefore I need many sets for the Physical Education setting. Without your help, the students will not be able to experience this great activity, which they can participate in for the rest of their lives.
