My students need a basketball, soccer ball, football, jump ropes, chalk to help them stay active during recess time. They also need six iPad keyboards and writing supplies.
New school, new recess toys. Back to school is always a time when teachers nearly break their bank just to get items for their classroom. I want to make sure my students have recess toys to keep them active during recess time.
I will be transferring to a new school and a new grade level in Metro-Atlanta.
I will be teaching two sections of 4th grade literacy and writing to a diverse group of students. Where I am previously taught, I have found that my students never have any outdoor recess toys and balls to play with. I don't want this to happen again.
My Project
Many times at recess I see the kids standing around talking, doing nothing. I don't want that to happen this year. I am trying to get recess toys and balls for my students in hopes that they will be active during their favorite part of the day. I am requesting a soccer ball, football, basketball, jump ropes, and other fun and engaging recess toys for my students. This will allow them to work collaboratively as they play with there peers on the playground.
Since I am also transferring to a new grade level, I am also requesting teacher resource books to assist me in teaching literacy and writing to my 4th graders. In addition, we are desperately in need of keyboards to go along with our iPads. This will allow my students to become familiar with typing.
By getting this project funded I will be able to provide my students with recess toys that they can play with during their recess time.
This will ensure that they aren't just standing around talking but rather staying active.
