My Students

My students are awesome! I teach 4th and 5th grade instrumental students. These students are in their first and second year of band.

I teach in a rural central Pennsylvania school that is a Title I school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Like many school districts and especially music programs our budgets have taken drastic hits during the the 14 years that I have been here. We continue to make due and keep on plugging away while creating beautiful music and meaningful memories along the way. The extra help would be appreciated.

My Project

Tuning is one of the fundamental parts of learning an instrument. It is an essential part of learning music, most especially when in a group.

Without proper tuning, even the best music will sound dreadful.

Tuning is something that needs to be understand and given attention more than just during the warm-up.

These tuners with clips will give my students the ability to visually see when their individual instrument is properly in tune. A typical traditional tuner can only be used on a more singular level and they don't typically pick up well in group settings. These tuners with clips allow the students to leave the clip on and monitor their tuning in real time in a group setting.
