Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Kindergarten students are excited to go to school for the first time. For the most part, they live in poverty and receive free lunch. The students are very diverse learners who are eager to learn! My school is in an urban environment.
We are a K-5 elementary school with over 800 students.
Our school district has been experiencing financial difficulties for many years. That being said, we have great students, dedicated teachers, and two administrators who work together to make our school a safe and environment for everyone!
My Project
These materials would make a difference in my students learning by helping all students become organized. Their pencil boxes are breaking and not keeping their materials organized, they are falling out of the boxes and students are misplacing their school materials. If my students had these pencils bags, the bags will be easier and more convenient for my students to stay organized. If my students' materials are organized and they know where their writing materials are, it will help them learn better, since they are not wasting time looking for a pencil or other writing materials that they might have misplaced. The students will also be able to place the glue sticks in their pencil bags to keep a hold of when we do fun projects. It will be convenient that the students will be able to hold their own glue sticks in their own pencil bags. With the lamination sheets, I will be able to laminated papers that will be suitable for my students' learning. My classroom will be saving paper and not making so many copies if I am able to laminate the material that is needed for my classroom. If the materials are laminated, it will be used for multiple lessons and even years! For example: My students will be able to practice writing their names and wipe their writing off multiple times with the lamination sheets.
