Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I believe every student can learn, just not on the same day or in the same way. My amazing group of students not only learn in different ways, but they learn at different rates. Each one has their own individual strengths and weaknesses as well as a specific learning disability that requires extra support. Since learning concepts may not come easily the first time around, the students in my class work tremendously hard. I have never had such a group of students who are so supportive of one another. They encourage each other with words like "You got this!" or "Mistakes help us learn," and finally "Practices make progress." Although learning is hard for them, they work hard to learn. That is why I wake up each day ready to teach. They give their all and it makes me want to do the same!
My Project
The interactive whiteboard is the perfect tool my students need to help them learn while not in the classroom. I teach 6 different groups of students with various abilities levels and age groups. My students need support in all academic areas. Presenting lessons using multi-media technology will help engage students in their education. I will be able to teach lessons using specific tools or apps, record it so students are able to review or stop the lesson as needed, and provide the visual and auditory support my students need to succeed.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to increase and improve student focus and attention, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement during these challenging times.
The foremost advantages of the interactive whiteboard are strengthening equity for our at-risk learners, increasing engagement, and collaboration with our partners in education, their parents. Since we are out of the classroom, we need to find ways to stay connected. Some of the things we can do is host conference calls with personal interaction, conduct virtual IEP (Individual Education Program) meetings, and offer layers of support using an interactive whiteboard. It will allow me to model and train how to operate all the new programs they are being asked to use at home. Having an interactive whiteboard provides many positive possibilities now and when we return to the classroom. We appreciate your consideration. Stay safe and well.
