My Students

Middle school can be a VERY tough age. So many emotions, so many hormones but one thing I do know about pre-teens is their love of drama in EVERYTHING, including the books they read. My students are amazing kids and I would love to bring fresh literature into the classroom to truly grab their attention.

The students in my classroom are thirsty for new books that are more tailored to their 21st century needs.

They are wanting to be engrossed in literature but my broken and falling apart "Call of the Wild" books are not doing the job. We would love to see "The Hunger Games," "Cinder," and other novels to truly hook my students.

My Project

My students need books to read!! A class set of the amazing tale, “The Outsiders,” will get my 7th and 8th graders excited about reading. We will have interactive lesson plans, exciting writing projects and a summative dress up day!! This is a perfect way to end our school year and get them ready for the next year. My students loved the last novel study we did and I know that this will be even better. It is a classic tale that stands the test in time and perfect for the middle school world. “Stay Gold,” will stay with my students forever!
